

Joanna Pierotti of Moss Hill Studio, is a full time working mixed media artist who finds joy in creating art dolls, assemblage, encaustic painting and working with vintage tattered fibers and lace. She has a passion for teaching. Joanna is a down-to-earth kind of gal, who enjoys the classroom energy.
Her work has been published in numerous publications including Art Making, Collections and Obsessions, Exhibition 36 and A Charming Exchange. Her work is collected all over the world.
Joanna's favorite hobby is to find discarded junk that becomes the perfect element in her creations. She loves to help others see the possibilities in junk collecting. Her favorite story after teaching one particular workshop was from a gal who resides on Park Avenue in New York City. After taking Joanna's class, she is now a proud dumpster diver.
Joanna grew up in New England, transplanted to Southern California in 1972 and presently lives in the Sierra Nevada Foothills with her husband of nineteen years, and two furry kids.
